Medy Wang is the Director of the British Council in Southwest China, with responsibility for leading the UK’s arts and culture relations, educational exchange and exams business in the three Southwest provinces of Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan, as well as Chongqing Municipality. She also leads the national education portfolio to build global literacy in the UK and China.
Medy joined the British Council in 2003. She has nearly 20 years of experience and track record in brokering opportunities for UK-China collaboration and facilitating UK-China dialogues and partnerships in Basic Education, Vocational Education and Skills, Higher Education, Sports, Governance and Society to help people to connect and succeed.
Medy has a master’s degree with the University of York. She leads the British Council’s Regional Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) work in East Asia to build an inclusive organizational culture and mainstream EDI in our policies, products and service. She is an Accredited Diversity Facilitator for the organization and also a trained Mediator. She sits on the China mediation pool in the British Embassy to help colleagues address working disputes and conflicts.
