Ralph joined the British Council in April 2015, as Director of Education Partnerships in China, taking up the post of South China Area Director in June 2016.

After graduating from Leeds University with a BA in Modern Chinese Studies and a Masters in Applied Translation, Ralph’s career has been devoted to developing UK China trade relations. He has spent the best part of the last two decades working to support a wide variety of British companies and organisations enter and grow in the China market.

Prior to joining the British Council Ralph was the Managing Director of the British Chamber of Commerce in China for four years, leading the combined British Chamber of Commerce and China-Britain Business Council team in Beijing to support the objectives of hundreds of established British businesses and new entrants to the Chinese market each year.
