Project Opportunities
British Council-TCA English Teacher Educator Scholarship, co-presented by the British Council and the the Global English Education China Assembly (TCA), is now open for application for the online Assured Certificate in Teacher Education, which is scheduled from 19 February to 17 May 2024. Higher education teachers engaged in pre-service English language teacher education as well as teacher educators working on in-service teacher development of primary and secondary English language teachers within China's public education sector are welcome to participate.

The British Council is recruiting experienced English teachers and teacher educators to facilitate the localisation of its "TeachingEnglish" platform in China.
Successful applicants will be responsible for establishing an online community of practice to inspire English teachers in China to actively participate in free online courses, webinars, and other professional development activities for English teachers on the "TeachingEnglish" platform. Our objective is to enhance the relevance of the training content to Chinese teachers, enabling them to apply the knowledge and skills learned more effectively and thereby improve their teaching capabilities. In the long term, this project is dedicated to providing Chinese teachers with the necessary tools and expertise to deliver high-quality English teaching experiences to students across China.
The British Council is currently recruiting experienced English teachers and teacher training experts to assist English teachers in better utilizing the courses and related teacher development resources on the "TeachingEnglish" platform (referred to as "TE" for short). Successful applicants will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an online teacher learning community, through which they will lead and help English teachers in China actively participate in TE platform's free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for English teacher professional development, webinars, and other localized professional development activities, as well as promoting regional English teaching exchanges with Southeast Asia.
Our objectives are to enhance the relevance of training content to the professional development needs of Chinese teachers, strengthen regional cooperation, and enable teachers to apply their learned knowledge and skills more effectively. In the long term, this project is dedicated to providing Chinese teachers with practical resources and expertise to help them deliver high-quality English teaching experiences to learners.
