On the 22nd April, Jonathan Dixon delivered a 3 hour online workshop on the CEFR for trainee teachers at Silpakorn University in Thailand. The workshop allowed participants to gain an understanding of the development, purpose and impact of the CEFR, and also to identify ways the CEFR can be beneficial to teachers in the classroom. In particular, particpants looked at how CEFR descriptors can be used for self-assessment purposes, and how the linking of test questions to CEFR levels and Can-Do statements can create learning objectives for the classroom. There were nearly 60 participants in total, and all appeared to be interested and engaged in the topic, based on their interaction levels throughout the session, and their feedback comments at the end.
