Noel Sharkey, Emeritus Professor of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Sheffield, examines Robotic Technology and  its potential threat to international security. 

Professor of Robotics at the University of Sheffield, and popular judge of the successful national television series 'Robot Wars', Noel has taught and researched at several universities both in the UK and overseas.  He is also well established in contributions made towards machine learning and cognitive science, and has spoken widely on issues concerning ethical responsibilities of governments and international organisations in a world where robotic applications are dramatically increasing. 

In a series of presentations in Beijing, Tianjin, Hangzhou and Chengdu, Professor Sharkey spoke with students about Robotic Technology and his current campaign on the dangers of ‘Killer Robots’ posing potential peace threats to international security.
