Social Enterprise Programme is a programme that supports organisations known as social enterprises. Social enterprises employ business strategies to meet social and environmental needs and make a positive impact in their communities.
Launched in 2009, the programme provides aspiring and existing social entrepreneurs with skills training, mentoring and access to UK expertise.
Together with our foundation and corporate partners, we also stage competitions for social enterprises and provide winners with investment and support. These social enterprises are active in fields such as education, elderly care, microfinance, poverty alleviation and environmental protection.
We organise policy dialogues and public activities that promote social enterprise, social investment, corporate social responsibility and sustainable economic development.
The programme draws on the experience of the UK – a world leader in social enterprise and social investment – and builds connections across borders between social entrepreneurs, intermediary organisations and investors.
Our work builds trust and creates opportunities between the UK and China while promoting a more sustainable future for us all.
