Science and Sustainability Award: Recognising alumni who have distinguished themselves through their career and achievements in the world of science and sustainability, and who can demonstrate the impact and scale of their achievements in their profession, and beyond.

Yang Li

Dr Yang Li’s professional identity was shaped by his doctoral training at Durham University. He is now a geochemist at Peking University and University College London with wide-ranging research interests.  

His work has reshaped long-standing scientific understanding in multiple fields. His research informs national resource strategies and deepens global understanding of strategic metals. 

 

Yushi Chen

Dr Yushi Chen achieved his PhD degree in Science and Technology Policy Studies from the University of Sussex. He also studied for his master’s degree in Climate Change, Management & Finance at Imperial College London. He is now a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Tiangong Think Tank at Tsinghua University.

Dr Chen works across the areas of technology, finance, and sustainability. He has a special interest in advancing low-carbon transitions through evidence-based research.   

 

Jingjing Liu

Prof. Jingjing Liu obtained her MBA degree from the University of Cambridge. She is now a Professor and Principal Investigator at the Institute for AI Industry Research, Tsinghua University.  

Known for being a world-renowned scientist in AI, she is also a leading expert on Multimodal Intelligence. Her pioneering work on Multimodal AI and Reinforcement Learning has powered world-class Large Language Models (LLMs) such as DAPO and Emu.
