Exam Modules and Assessment

Currently, 3 core module exams and 2 specialist module exams are available for registration. For each module, candidates are required to answer 80 multiple choice questions in 80 minutes. Candidates can take all modules together or choose the modules that meet the needs. Exams can be taken in one time or separately, in any order, over several times.

November 2024 Registration and Exam Dates

Exam Date: 14 November 2024

Registration Start: 16:00 on 13 August 2024 (China Local Time) 

Registration deadline: 16:00 on 24 September 2024 (China Local Time)

For group registraions from organizations, the exam date will be discussed between organizations and British Council centres. Such requests are supposed to be informed to us at least 2 months prior to your exam dates. 

Test Fee 

For individual 

• 1-2 modules: CNY1,168.02 per module per candidate
• 3 or more modules: CNY910.52 per module per candidate 

For group registration 

• 1-2 candidates or modules: CNY1,168.02 per module per candidate per session
• 3-5 candidates or modules: CNY910.52 per module per candidate per session
• 6-25 candidates or modules: CNY859.02 per module per candidate per session
• 26-99 candidates or modules: CNY807.52 per module per candidate per session
• 100 or more candidates or modules: CNY756.02 per module per candidate per session

*Note: All the above fees are VAT included. The fees include local exam service fee and Cambridge board fee.

Results and Certificates

TKT results are issued with certificates to centres approximately 4-5 working weeks after the answer sheets are received in Cambridge. British Council will be responsible for sending the certificates to candidates via courier.

Exam Modules

Currently, Delta Module 1 exam is available for registration at our Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing office. Chongqing office will only accept Distance Delta Candidates. Beijing office also offers Delta Module 3 exams. The Delta exams are held twice a year in June and December on fixed dates set by Cambridge English.

Assessment Methods

The Module 1 examination consists of two 90-minute written papers, with a 30-minute break in between (3 hours 30 minutes in total). December 2024 Registration and Exam Dates

Module 1

Exam Date: 9:00 – 12:30 on 4 December 2024 (China Local Time)

Registration Start: 16:00 on 15 August 2024 (China Local Time) 

Registration deadline: 16:00 on 17 October 2024 (China Local Time), candidates from Distance Delta centres, please email us for your registration deadline.

Module 3

Submission Deadline: Before 12:00 (noon) on 5 December 2024 (China Local Time) , British Council only accepts Module 3 assignment to be submitted before this deadline.

Registration Start: 16:00 on 15 August 2024 (China Local Time) 

Registration deadline: 16:00 on 4 November 2024 (China Local Time)

December 2024 Exam Registration Fees

British Council Candidate

Module 1: CNY3,322.78 per candidate

Module 3: CNY1,769.54 per candidate

*Note: All the above fees are 3%VAT included. The fees include local exam service fee and Cambridge English board fee.

Distance Delta Candidate 

Module 1 Distance Delta Candidate -International House London (IHL): CNY 633.45 per person

Module 1 Distance Delta Candidate - Other Distance Centre (BELL, NILE, ITI): CNY 1,493.50 per person

*Note: All the above fees are VAT included. The fees for Distance Delta Candidate include local exam service fee only. Cambridge English board fee should be paid via distance Delta centres as your distance centre is responsible for your exam registration at Cambridge English. Therefore, please reach your Distance Delta centre first, confirming process, before choosing us as your test day exam venue.

Please notice: All candidates must complete above fee payment on our registration system online before the registration deadline.

For registrations of TKT and Delta exams, please visit: https://publicsession.britishcouncilexams.cn/ and click on “Registration Guidance ” for application procedure. Candidates who wish to apply for special arrangements are advised to reach us at least one week before the registration deadline set by the British Council. For more test day information, please reach our contact in relevant office.

Cancellation can be requested before the registration cut-off date and candidate will receive a partial refund of the local test service fee (after deduction of an administration fee of 30% local test service fee), The refund of board fee (if applicable) is subject to exam board’s policy.

After the registration cut- off date, only under certain special circumstances will candidate be allowed to cancel the test. For example, candidate wants to cancel the test for medical reasons, cancellation application needs to be submitted with supporting medical evidence provided before the test day. The cancellation application needs to be submitted to the British Council Global Exams Services National service hotline (Email: Globalexams.China@britishcouncil.org.cn, Tel: 010-58103306, Service hour: 09:00-12:00, 13:30-17:00, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays). The BC Company reserves the right to check the supporting documents and to decide whether to approve the cancellation application or not. If the cancellation application is approved, the candidate will receive a partial refund of the local test service fee (after deduction of an administration fee of 30% local test service fee). The refund of board fee (if applicable) is subject to exam board’s policy.

Cancellation applications will not be accepted after the test day.
