Culture, Creativity and Sport Award: Recognising alumni who have carved a career for themselves in arts, culture and sport. We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate their artistic ingenuity, influence and creativity. 

  • Areas of work could include, but are not limited to: arts, design, humanities, traditional media, music, video, TV, sports and online content and audiovisual media creation (e.g blogging, vlogging including for YouTube and social media).

Shunhao Jia

Shunhao Jia achieved his master’s degree in Sport Management from Loughborough University and studied PhD in Sport Pedagogy at the University of Birmingham. He is currently a professional football coach working in the Chinese Super League. As the first Chinese coach without a prior professional career in China, he is an inspiration for many young people studying in the UK now aspire to follow in his footsteps and become professional coaches on their return.  

Ge Yu

Ge Yu  gained her MBA degree from the University of Cambridge. Ge founded ANNDERSTAND, a sustainable fashion brand that has transformed over four thousand meters of textile waste into aesthetic collections.  

Her work extends beyond fashion into consultancy. She takes an active role in helping companies implement circular principles and achieve measurable impacts.  

 

Fangjin Zhang

Dr Fangjin Zhang obtained her MSc and Doctoral degree from Loughborough University. She is now an expert in advanced 3D digital technologies and also a research-led entrepreneur.  

Her research in archaeological restoration has had an unparalleled impact on the world of heritage preservation. Furthermore, processes derived from her work on AI pharmacy and organoid printing have shortened medical research and development timelines.
