Spirit of Youth Launch Events 4-6 Jul 2017	The Spirit of Youth Campaign was launched during Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal’s visit to China. It was launched in three cities across China: Beijing, Wuhan and Changsha. Spirit of Youth Image Ambassador, Chinese actress Jiang Shuying, attended the launch event in Beijing.
British Music Campaign 4 Jul 2017	The British Music Campaign, in partnership with popular music streaming APP Xiami, invited netizens across China to discover the UK through music and enter a competition to win flight tickets to the UK.
Science on Tap Event Series Jul - Nov 2017	Bringing cutting-edge science and research to life like never before, Science on Tap was a series of interactive talks and live demonstrations by visiting UK professionals in the fields of science, engineering, technology, health and more.
UK-China Football Development Initiative Jul - Nov 2017	The Premier League, the Football Association, and the British Council came together to jointly develop a UK-China football coach training programme, which consists of the ‘Premier Skills’ coach training courses and FA international coach development courses.
Earth: One Amazing Day Aug 2017	The film Earth: One Amazing Day is a co-production between BBC Earth Films and SMG Pictures, and it is the first feature film to be produced under the UK and China film co-production treaty. A number of special screening and panel discussions were organised in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
My Best Choice Digital Campaign launched on 12 Aug 2017	Launch on International Youth Day in 2017, this digital campaign invited celebrities, experts and the general public to share their best life choices online to inspire the next generation.
Spirit of Youth: UK Tour 5-11 Sept 2017	We followed our Spirit of Youth Image Ambassador, Chinese actress Jiang Shuying, on her trip back to the UK to visit her former university, the University of East Anglia, where she studied for a Master’s degree.
Artisan Workshop with Wedgwood 8 Sept 2017	Wedgwood work with many young artists to create their unique designs. In September, young British artist, Amber Jo Morrey, travelled to China to showcase her talent and the new pieces she has worked with Wedgwood to create.
Musicians in Residencies 10 Sept - 15 Oct 2017	Musicians in Residencies brought British musician, David Lyttle, a MOBO nominated jazz drummer, recording artist, composer and producer from Northern Ireland, to East China, to undertake a 6-week residency in Suzhou.
Spirit of Youth: Football Training Sept 2017 and Jan 2018	Spirit of Youth teamed up with Cardiff City Football Club to provide two training sessions to young adults from Changchun and Shijiazhuang, places that commonly have less access to these types of events.
British Embassy Open Day 16 Sept 2017	Now in its third year, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to China, Dame Barbra Woodward opened up the doors of her Residence and its gardens to almost 2,000 members of the public to offer the ultimate experience in discovering all the many aspects of the UK and British culture.
Concrete Grass and Music Festival 16-17 Sept 2017	Concrete and Grass Festival, now in its third year in Shanghai, is run by Split Works and UK promoter Archie Hamilton. With support from the Spirit of Youth programme, this year brought an eclectic mix of exciting and inspiring British bands and musicians to the festival. The concert received 23,000 concert-goers in two days.
Women of the World (WoW) Festival 16-17 Sept 2017	The Women of the World (WoW) initiative is a global movement of festivals launched by Southbank Centre in London. It is a platform to celebrate women and girls, as well as a look at the obstacles they face through their lives. It includes talks, debates, performances, workshops, food, and music.
UK-China Early Years Education Campaign 19-22 Sept 2017	The “UK-China Early Years Education Campaign” aimed to precisely deliver this spirit, and to bring in the best expertise from both China and the UK to support the development of younger children in China through a series of workshops and dialogues.
‘Current’ - New Scottish Contemporary Art exhibition 22 Sept - 10 Nov 2017	CURRENT \| 不合时宜: Contemporary Art from Scotland is a two-year four-phase contemporary art exhibition and forum programme, that showcases for the first time in China the distinctiveness of contemporary art made in Scotland.
Poetry on the Metro Sept - Dec 2017	Based on the successful campaign, London’s own ‘Poems on the Underground’, which showcased poetry in public spaces and on transport networks, the ‘Poetry on the Metro’ campaign helps to make journeys more stimulating and inspiring by showcasing a range of poetry on the metro train carriages and metro stations across China.
“Study UK, Discover You” Festival 21 - 29 Oct 2017	The “Study UK, Discover You” Festival toured around the country combining online and offline engagement to promote UK study opportunities to the young generation in China.
Wuzhen International Theatre Festival 22-29 Oct 2017	Gob Squad performed at the Wuzhen Theatre Festival this year. They are an internationally acclaimed artist collective from the UK and Germany, who make performances and videos which explore the point where theatre meets art, media and real life.
British Sports Festival 26-30 Oct 2017	A series of events were held around the country celebrating British Sport, including a UK-China Football Film Festival, and rugby tournaments with rugby players from Bristol Rugby Club.
UK Healthcare: Sharing Successes Oct 2017	Healthcare is a sector with a growing level of UK-China collaboration. In a series of interviews, Chinese healthcare professionals gave their experienced studying and training in the UK.
UK Alumni Awards Ceremony 25 Nov 2017	The British Council’s UK Alumni Awards recognised the outstanding achievements made by UK alumni. This year a Spirit of Youth award was given for contribution to UK-China collaboration and exchange.
China-UK Education Technology Innovation and Development Workshop Nov 2017	This event showcased cutting-edge educational products and services including web based and VR/AR learning tools. It brought together educators and innovators from the UK and China to discuss the approaches to engage students with interactive learning and the possibilities of new technology for the future of learning.
Red Arrows Second China Tour Nov 2017	Following on from its successful 2016 visit, the Red Arrows team, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, visited China for a second time. During the visit, the team gave an Q&A session in Shanghai to fans online.
UK-China Young Entrepreneurs Forum Nov - Dec 2017	A China-wide event series aiming to create new networks among young entrepreneurs in the UK and China. A series of young entrepreneur talks were hosted in multiple locations, inviting British and Chinese entrepreneurs to share how they build companies, inspire their teams and keep the business running amid challenges.
Fashion is GREAT Dec 2017	A special UK fashion show was organised in Wuhan to bring UK’s vibrant creativity and unrivalled craftsmanship in the fashion industry to fashion students and up-and-coming designers in China.
Caravan at Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre 8-17 Dec 2017	Caravan celebrates the best new theatre being made across England and champions the ways artists are reinventing the relationship of audience to maker and creating work that is both local and international. Three to four works from the UK came to Shanghai and Guangzhou, from performers including British young director Andy Field.
Enterprise Education Event 12 Dec 2017	A workshop was held in Xi'an at Northwestern Polytechnic University, which introduced teachers and education professionals to the idea of "Enterprise Education" a new educational methodology from the UK promoting interactive learning and development.
Chevening China Awards Jan 2018	The inaugural Chevening China Awards were held in Beijing in January 2018. The Awards ceremony was held to welcome the Chevening Scholars of 2016/17 home to China and awards were presented to successful Alumni to celebrate their achievements in increasing collaboration between the UK and China.
