    Fees and terms of payment

    *The test fee above is VAT included, which includes board fee, venue hire, invigilation charges, secure storage of question papers and courier charges. Exam service fee will be doubled if tests are arranged on public holidays in mainland China.

     

    terms of payment

    All the fees above must be paid by candidates in RMB through the British Council Exams Online System. All fees must be paid no later than the test entry deadline published by the British Council.

    Refund and cancellation

     

    Cancellation of the tests can be allowed in some circumstances and agree that 50% of the local charge can be refunded if cancellation is requested at least five working days prior to the examination date with sufficient evidence or explanation. Evidence should be issued by an authorised body. All board fee incurred is not refundable. No refund is provided if a cancellation request is received within five working days of the examination or if the candidate is absent from the examination.

    EXAMS REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

    ON THE TEST DAY

    • Candidates should arrive at venue based on the confirmation email sent by the British Council 
    • Candidates must bring the same National ID or passport used at registration. If any candidates under 18 needs to be collected after the end of the tests, the parent(s), guardian(s), any other authorized person(s) must present to the invigilators the original copy of ID which matches the scanned copy uploaded onto our exam registration system.
    • Candidates can bring writing instruments into the exam room. No mobile phones, watches, books, dictionaries, papers or any other devices are allowed unless approved for that subject.

    Results and Post-test service

    RESULTS

    The results of STEP will be released to candidates in the Results Online system. Results will be available on: 17 August 2023

    POST-TEST SERVICE

    Candidates who register for STEP at our centre may submit their enquiries about results within the period set by Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing and the British Council. We are unable to process any enquiries about results for candidates from other test centres.

    Q1: What is UCAS ID?
    When you register with UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) Apply, you will get a 10-digit Personal ID Number like this: 123-456-7890. It is very important to ensure that your UCAS ID and personal details submitted to us are accurate and match what you put in your UCAS application, so that your results can be sent to the correct university.

    Q2: How long is the result valid for?
    The result is only valid for the year the test is taken and cannot be carried over to a re-application.

    Q3: Can I take Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing this year if I don’t plan to apply for university in this year?
    Yes, but as the result is only valid for the year the test is taken and cannot be carried over to a re-application, you need to take the exam again in the year you plan to apply for universities.

    Q4: How to deal with the time clash between different exams?
    With the same exam series, there may be different scenarios of exam timetable clash:
    We are unable to make any rearrangement for timetable clash between Cambridge Assessment Admissions Testing registered at our centre and other exams (e.g.Cambridge International exams). Candidates should avoid any timetable clash before registering for exams.
