The Basic Education #EmergingEnglish Teacher Survey Response Webinar Series is a programme of 4 dynamic webinars held over two weeks in July 2020; the content is based on findings from the British Council China online teacher survey distributed to Chinese English teachers in late April 2020.

These events were aimed at supporting the immediate needs of teachers who still currently teach online, or who may do so, whilst also supporting a return to classroom teaching and the integration of English teaching practices that are emerging from the experience of teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The webinars included speakers from different contexts who contributed their expertise and insight to supporting local teachers based on identified needs. Each webinar contained 4 key speakers, including at least one from the British Council or IATEFL and two from Chinese contexts, offering practical and theoretical advice that provides new opportunities for experimentation and practice in English teaching.

Our primary audience were Chinese English teachers, and presentations were delivered in English or Chinese dependent on the speaker. Each webinar offered interactive opportunities to ask questions of the speakers based on their presentations.
