British Council China is pleased to announce the 2025 Going Global Partnerships Seed Fund for Student Mobility.

This seed fund will enable existing UK-China HE partnerships to support Chinese higher education institutions to increase their capacity in internationalisation, increase UK university students’ understanding of China, share the UK’s experience and expertise in hosting international students, as well as foster innovation and create long-term sustainable partnerships that endure beyond the life of any single project.

Objectives:

  • Support a durable and resilient eco-system for mobility and exchange in education between UK and Chinese institutions
  • Support capacity building of both UK and Chinese institutions and secure the long-term sustainability of partnerships between the UK and China
  • Boosting UK students’ inbound mobility to China through development of innovative and practical mobility programmes.
  • Diversifying the range of UK students gaining international experience in China, including those from lower socio-economic households, first-generation, underrepresented ethnic groups etc.
  • Prioritise gender equality and inclusion at every level of engagement.

This is an open call, to all UK universities with existing partnership(s) with Chinese universities. The partnership type includes but not limited to transnational education, articulation programme, short-term exchange programme, joint research, etc.
