Director Arts, British Council China; Culture Counsellor of the Culture Education Section of the British Embassy
Dom Hastings is Director Arts, China for the British Council and Counsellor (Culture) at the British Embassy Beijing. Based in Beijing, he leads the British Council's arts and cultural relations work in China, developing partnerships and programmes that connect artists, cultural organisations and creative sectors in the UK and China.
Dom joined the British Council in 2016 to help deliver the UK-India Year of Culture. Since then he has held arts leadership roles across China, Myanmar and the UK, working with governments, cultural institutions, festivals and artists to develop international partnerships and support cultural exchange.
Before joining the British Council, Dom worked across Scotland's cultural sector as a freelance producer, delivering festivals, events and collaborative projects across a range of art forms.
