Joss Arnott Dance

Joss Arnott Dance

Founding Joss Arnott Dance in 2010, Joss is an internationally award-winning choreographer who has been continuously supported and commissioned by leading UK dance agencies, venues and funding organisations.

2020 marks Joss Arnott Dance’s 10th anniversary and the company celebrated this key milestone developing the ‘DANCE: CONNECTS – PULSE! 2.0’ initiative.

PULSE! 2.0

The work was originally inspired by Artistic Director Joss Arnott's fascination with how as humans, we are constantly exploring and creating new ways to connect, uniting us consciously and subconsciously.

The response celebrates these connections, empowering an array of dancers to create a social connection through movement and music. This culminated in an isolation digital flash mob that took place on Thursday 2 July 2020, 19:30 (GMT).

This 'PULSE! 2.0' film features 23 professional dance artists who worked with Joss Arnott to learn the new PULSE! 2.0 repertoire and create their own response to the movement and music score. This film maps everyone's performance and celebrates that unified connection.

This 'DANCE: CONNECTS - PULSE! 2.0' film features hundreds of people who engaged with JAD throughout May, June and July 2020.

The company engaged with dancers of all ages from across the world including Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the USA through live online workshops and accessible, pre-recorded Learn at Home videos.

Dancers learnt the 'DANCE:CONNECTS - PULSE! 2.0' choreography and were then able to develop their own creative responses to the movement and music. This film maps everyone's performance and celebrates that unified connection.
